10 Natural Remedies for Throat Pain

Throat pain is very bothersome and prevents you from thinking about anything else. Your general health gets worse when you feel a stabbing pain when you swallow saliva or food or even when you breathe. This pain can be the predecessor of a cold, for example, or angina. In order to cure your sore throat quickly and effectively, keep the following natural remedies for throat pain in mind:

1. Salt

Add a teaspoon of table salt to a cup of warm table and gargle this approximately every hour.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix two tablespoons of this with a cup of hot water. Let it cool a bit (just enough so you can handle it) and gargle every 60 minutes.

3. Honey and Lemon Tea

It is one of the most popular options that exists and is very easy to make. It only needs two tablespoons of honey and one of lemon juice per cup of boiling water, to which you add a common tea bag. Let it chill a little bit and drink it little by little. It will soothe your throat immediately.

4. Clove

5. Ginger Tea

Among other qualities, this tea can soothe throat pain. It also helps relax you, with stomach pain, and to warm you up on cold days. And its flavor is delicious.

9. Licorice Root Tea

Make this infusion of one or two licorice root pieces per cup of water and sip it. Another idea is to make tea bags with licorice or even chew a little bit so that it mixes with your saliva. This will soothe your throat. Be very careful when using it because it increases blood pressure if you consume a lot. It is not recommended for pregnant women or people that suffer from hypertension.

10. Cayenne Pepper

Gargle a mixture of 1/8 tablespoon of this with 1/2 cup of hot water a few times a day. Be careful with the amount of cayenne pepper that you use because it is very strong and spicy.

Other Home Recipes for Throat Pain

– Boil three lemon leaves per cup of water for 10 minutes. Lower the heat and add a tablespoon of honey. Drink it very slowly before it gets cold. You can gargle lemon juice mixed with water or honey five times a day. Don’t forget to brush your teeth to prevent the damaging effects that lemon has on them.

– Make a bandage with a tablespoon of dry chamomile leaves and two cups of boiling water. Let it cook for give minutes and remove it with a cloth. Wring it out well and apply it to your neck until it gets cold. Repeat this a few times a day.

– Make a shake with 1 tablespoon of pure bee honey, 1 cup of pomegranates, 1 cup of low fat yogurt, a half cup of blueberries and a cup and a half of sliced banana. Blend all of the ingredients until you get a homogenous shake and drink it twice a day.

– Slice 1 onion and add it into a half liter of water. Add three tablespoons of sugar and let sit for 12 hours. Drink a cup every two hours until your throat doesn’t hurt any more.
